The ZSOUND R15P-III is designed to meet these heavy-duty demands, serving as a Powerful 15-Inch Passive Speaker (a professional loudspeaker that requires an external power amplifier to produce sound). As the larger sibling in the R-Series, this unit provides the extra “oomph” needed to move air in expansive spaces while maintaining the precision that audiophiles expect.

Large-Format Drivers for Deep Bass and Clear Highs

The secret to the R15P-III’s performance lies in its massive 15-inch “Low-Frequency (LF) Driver” (the internal component responsible for producing deep bass and mid-range frequencies). Because a 15-inch cone has more surface area than smaller drivers, it can reproduce lower frequencies—down to 55 Hz—with much greater ease. This driver is paired with a 75mm “Voice Coil” (the coil of wire that generates the motive force to move the speaker cone). A larger voice coil allows the speaker to handle more power and heat, ensuring it doesn’t distort even when the party is at its peak.

For the high end, the R15P-III uses a 1.75-inch “Compression Driver” (a specialized driver designed to push high-frequency sounds through a horn with high efficiency). This combination allows this Powerful 15-Inch Passive Speaker to deliver a “Maximum SPL” (Sound Pressure Level, which measures the peak loudness of the speaker) of a staggering 131dB. Targeted Dispersion with a Rotatable Horn
