ZSOUND VCX: Sonic Mastery at an Outdoor Gala Event
In the vast expanse of an outdoor event venue, the ZSOUND VCX dual 14 inch line array system orchestrated a symphony of sound that spanned across VIP viewing areas, a 60-meter-wide speaker's platform, and a 44-meter performance zone. This unique setting, a standard racetrack transformed for the occasion, presented audio challenges that were ingeniously addressed by the VCX system.
A Sonic Canvas for VIP Experience
The VIP viewing areas, measuring 32 meters in width, were enveloped in a soundscape that was as grand as the event itself. The ZSOUND VCX system, with its large-scale, four-amp, three-way line array configuration, provided a frequency response of 55 Hz to 16 kHz (±3 dB), ensuring that every word and note resonated with clarity.
A Stage for Unparalleled Performance
The performers, with a vast activity range that extended to a football field-like area behind the main stage, relied on the VCX system's ability to project sound to every corner of the venue. The 80° adjustable horizontal coverage (-6 dB) allowed for a seamless audio experience throughout the performance area.
Innovative Audio Solutions
Faced with the challenge of a lack of trussing or fly loft systems, the event technicians deployed the VCX system in an innovative manner. Sixteen VCX units were hung on either side of the venue, with two subwoofers providing robust low-end support at the base and two electric hoists suspending the speakers from above.
Technical Highlights of the VCX System:
- Sensitivity: HI/MID drivers at 112 dB SPL/104 dB SPL and LOW drivers at 98 dB SPL for powerful audio projection.
- Power Rating: Capable of handling 240W for HF, 600W for MF, and 500W for each LF, the VCX is designed for high-intensity events.
- Maximum SPL: Peaks of up to 141 dB for HF and 131 dB for LF, offering the impact needed for large-scale outdoor events.
