Concert Sound System
at Canton Park Music Festival

The Canton Park Music Festival, representing the unity among music, stood like a beacon out in the open, resilient against the unpredictable weather. Left unperturbed by wind and rain, a rock-steady installation of the ZSOUND VCX dual 14″ line array system promised phenomenal dusky clarity of sound. No matter the natural elements, the VCX system performed with unwavering confidence. Ushering in concerts with excellence, the oversized outdoor stage was supported by a four-amp system with a three-way line array design, enabling every section of the venue to be immersed in evenly distributed, concert-grade sound.

This robust setup exemplified what a professional concert sound system should deliver in challenging outdoor conditions. True to ZSOUND’s core audio engineering principles, every corner of the park was treated to a balanced and crystal-clear listening experience, where not a single note was lost. The frequency response extended from 55 Hz to 16 kHz with an impressive consistency of ±3 dB, and even reached 45 Hz at -10 dB, ensuring the low-end remained full and rich throughout performances.

The VCX offered 80º horizontal adjustable coverage, which worked efficiently across varied listener positions. Its sensitivity ratings were outstanding: the high and mid-frequency drivers delivered 112 dB SPL and 104 dB SPL respectively, while the low-frequency drivers produced a powerful 98 dB SPL. This meant the VCX was capable of handling extremely loud environments without distortion. The power ratings reinforced its heavy-duty performance, starting with 240W for the high-frequency drivers, 600W for mid-frequency, and over 500W for each low-frequency driver—amplifying with depth, punch, and presence.

Peak SPL reached as high as 141 dB for the high-frequency range and 131 dB for the low-frequency range, ensuring the sound maintained clarity and projection even during the loudest moments of the concert. The neodymium low-frequency drivers, engineered with large voice coils, delivered a tight and controlled bass response, while also providing an air-tight acoustic fit even in rainy conditions. The VCX showed no signs of compromise, standing firm against harsh weather and wind.

Weighing in at 77 kg, the VCX was constructed using 15mm and 18mm birch multi-ply plywood and coated with durable black polyurea for enhanced strength and roadworthiness. It wasn’t just a speaker—it was a symbol of performance, persistence, and passion. More than just delivering sound, the VCX breathed vitality into the festival. Each resonating note amplified the joy of the moment, reminding everyone that music was, and always would be, the undisputed star of the day. It was, in every sense, a concert sound system built not just for performance—but for unforgettable musical moments.
